Technology scale and learning curves
The objective of this master thesis project is to analyze how innovation processes and learning curves are connected to unit scale. The envisioned methodology is based on literature reviews of the research available, possibly to be combined with the development of a database and a quantitative analysis.
The project will be carried out as part of a new SEI initiative focused on the potential of decentralized & modular technologies, and is to be carried out approximately over the time period January-June 2020, though this could be negotiated.

Mapping fossil fuel combustion equipment suppliers
The objective of this master thesis project is to map and analyze companies that build and supply equipment that in one form or another is used to combust fossil fuels. This could include:
- Manufacturers of cars, trucks, airplanes and ship engines
- Manufacturers of gas turbines & coal boilers
- Manufacturers of industrial equipment such as industrial boilers, blast furnaces and direct reduction shafts
The envisioned methodology will be based on the assembly of a database of the key companies that produce GHG-emitting equipment, combined with an analysis of the potential of these companies to strategically adapt to a zero-emission future.
The project is to be carried out approximately over the time period January-June 2020, though this could be negotiated.
